My Project
I am new to this position, but I have already noticed that students have a hard time finding the books that they are interested in. Especially in the Non-Fiction section. I have already started to convert the genre into sub sections but I would like to be able to print color coded signage for them. For example, The 500 DDS includes so many subsections. Kids frequently come to me asking for books on eagles, the planets or bugs, but they are generally all grouped together in the 500's of the dewey decimal system. Currently I am using old bookends and a piece of scrap paper to separate them. But with my 3D printer and knowledge I can design and print new signage for them. Separating the sections will make the genre less intimidating for all age levels. They also love being able to sit and read in a space other than a rigid chair, so I'd like a set of fun comfortable chairs for kids to enjoy reading in.
