Library Safe Calm Space

Help me give my students a calming place in the library to enjoy their chosen books and learn more about emotional regulation. The canopy, chairs and cushions all share a theme of mindfulness.

My Project

Our students are eager to learn and enjoy having a place to read and relax. Having a calming reading corner will encourage the students to use the library as a place to feel safe, secure, and content. The goal is to make the library a place students will want to be. The cushions and flexible seating will help make this possible. The emotional well-being books will remind students of expected behavior as well as regulate their feelings. Having calm interactive objects will encourage even the most reluctant readers to come to the library and enjoy the interactive space.
