This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The library in MES is becoming quite a popular place! Kids are really starting to explore all the library shelves have to offer. It's wonderful to see so many students excited about reading after two years of disrupted education.
During the pandemic, many of our most popular and interesting titles were lost.
Many students moved away or switched school districts in those years, and we've been unable to get several books from our collection returned to us. We've also noticed that many of our popular books are getting VERY worn out. There's only so much tape can do to keep these books holding together!
In this project, we're looking to replace both books that were lost and books that are "well-loved" by ordering new sets of popular series, in addition to a few popular stand-alone titles. It's our hope that these books will continue to support my students' love of the library and reading for fun!
