Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach children in a low-income and high poverty neighborhood in the inner city of Los Angeles. At this Title I school, 100% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

Though their economic standing has them encountering many challenges, struggling to receive an exemplary education will not be one of them as far as I am concerned.

My hope is to provide my students with the highest expectations so that they can succeed in their lives, education, and careers. To help me do that, I need resources that these students may not have readily available.

My Project

The reason I started this project is because I wanted to be able to further expand my library book collection for my students. As of right now, I am running out of space in my library and the current book shelves and baskets that I have are not enough to store all the wonderful titles in my possession. It's definitely not enough to store any new titles. I want my students to be able to seek out their next adventure in reading in their new library.

This is part two of my project, as I already requested another mobile library storage cart.

I want all my books to find a home. With this new library, my students will be able to easily seek out their next journey in reading. I want my students to enjoy reading by having exactly the right book for them! This new library storage cart will ensure that my students will have more than enough to choose from.
