This project is fully funded
P.S 84 has been Pre-k to Grade 5 school for many years. This is about to change and the school will be adding grades 6 to 8 over the course of the next three years. This change to the school structure requires major changes to the school library.
The library has a large closet space in the back part of the room which is going to become a Grade 6 book cafe. My idea is to serve beverages and small cakes at select times to Grade 6 students. This would also be a time for the students to look at current book titles.
In order to interest Grade 6 students I would like to request some popular books like the Percy Jackson series, the Septimus Heap series, and the Alex Rider series. I am requesting paperback copies because upper grade students prefer to carry paperback copies.
The library has been a central part of the school for the last several years, creating a successful grade 6 to 8 book section is necessary to allow the library to service a new section of the school.
