Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting a new rug for students to sit on when they visit the school library. I am requesting many clear storage containers so that we can move our picture books forward facing to make it easier for our young readers to browse books. I am also requesting books about holidays and books with my students favorite characters so that our library is filled with engaging books.
These items will help make our school library the heart of the school and a place where literacy blossoms.
My goal is make the library a place where all students feel welcome and see themselves within the books on the shelves. This includes honoring holidays and cultures of our diverse student population.
My students are amazing because they have a strong desire to learn. School is a safe place for them, where every day they continue to foster a love of learning. Putting brand new books in our library is SO exciting for our young readers.
