This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have reading abilities at a range of levels and wide range of interests that my library is struggling to meet for the sustained silent reading period. Some students struggle with long text and need the graphic novels, while others need texts that feature their interests to be able to sit and read during the sustained silent reading periods.
I have students who excel in reading and need the help in expanding their repertoire of texts.
They need some of the classics that our civics centered classroom is not using. These higher performing students need more challenging texts to keep them engaged and interested.
