Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a low socioeconomic school. Even though we have plenty of funds for books, we are unable to use that in our library to make the space into a fun and welcoming environment. The items on our list will add to the betterment of our whole school population.
By having comfortable places to sit, fun and quick card games to play, or a sound bar to play music to get our students thinking, our library will become a comfortable place for students to hang out during lunch; a place for teachers to work effectively; and for full classes to engage in their assigned work for the day.
Even though our building is an old forgotten one, our library still needs to be a safe place for students to work. By choosing us, you will be helping our 1400 students, teachers, and staff find a comfortable space to be productive. During lunch time students can come into the library to eat, and hang out with friends, or a place where they can be quiet. If we can make the library into an atmosphere that is welcoming, then we can keep students here on campus instead of walking home.
