This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the Library Media Specialist in a K-5 building, I am in the unique position to work with all students (and teachers!) in the building for several years. This comes with the pleasure of watching my students grow and learning what modalities they learn best with. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school! I have a large population of English language learners, many who are new to the country. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids! This virtual course will teach additional strategies so I can give them an even better learning experience.
I am requesting book baggies so that the students library bar code can be attached to it and students can use the bags to keep their library books safe.
It is very important that students are able to take their books home and read with their families, these baggies will ensure students can protect their books from a rouge banana or water bottle in their back pack!
