This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
One of the most important things students learn in their first years of schooling is to read and write. Helps my kids learn how to read and write by helping us reach our goal for materials.
My students are amazing shining stars.
I co-teach 21 amazing, smart, and hilarious four year old students who vary on the educational spectrum in a blended and bilingual classroom. My students are a varied bunch; 95% free and reduced lunch, 40% have individual educational plans, and 60% are bilingual.
My Project
The classroom library needs a comfy couch where students can sit, get comfortable and read a book. With a couch the library center will become an inviting space for students to cozy up with their favorite book.
Our writing center needs markers, erasers, and pencil grips to help students practice writing skills. With these tools my kiddies will get to practice letter/number writing.
My students are in a crossroads; the year before entering kindergarten is one of the most crucial in gaining in on their more affluent peers from across the county.
With these materials my students will have the opportunity to practice important skills each and every day. By the end of the year it is our goal that reading and writing will become second nature.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
