Librarian Spine Label Love!

Help me give my students a fully-functioning library with a working printer. I need to print spine labels for our books, which will help organize books on the shelves and will help any volunteer know where to shelve.

My Students

This year, I took on the challenge of a dual position at my school: Reading Specialist 5-8 and Librarian K-8. During my first year at this school, I made a promise to myself that I'd ooze positivity every day I walked across the threshold. I'm proud to say I have maintained that mentality and have modeled such for my students.

My students are opinionated, passionate, and driven young adults.

They see my positivity and sometimes they match it, sometimes they don't - and that's okay! But I know it's MY job to be that source for them every day.

My Project

A printer will absolutely make a difference in my students' learning! My school has never had a library until now. Therefore, I am excited to teach everyone the Dewey Decimal System, the importance of shelving, and how to read spine labels.

The printer will produce the spine labels needed to keep the library organized and clear for students of all ages.

Until then, I am working hard to ensure the books are categorized appropriately. I owe much of the progress, as well, to six students for consistently volunteering during their lunch and free times to get the library up and running as quickly as possible.
