Help me give my students incentives and prizes to host an academic event for their community.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Cole's classroom raised $222
This project is fully funded
My Students
AP Computer Science Principles students are working on an event known as the Hour of Code +, primarily for 9th and 10th grade students. They will:
*Host icebreakers
*Explain our station format
*Lead students through coding projects done at stations
*Encourage students to show off their exciting coding projects
*Celebrate and award a few prizes.
We are a 70% free and reduced-price lunch high school in a diverse urban neighborhood. This means students need your support! A majority of our students do not realize how important computer science is or how rewarding coding can be.
My Project
These supplies will help recruit students who would not otherwise attend a coding event. A little incentive goes a long way in our neighborhood!
The lanyards and socks are basics that most students need.
These will serve as encouraging prizes for being brave and sharing a coding project in front of a new group. The candy will provide us the energy and delight needed to persevere.
By donating to our project, you will help students see why computer science can be a fun and a worthwhile pursuit. Most students want to build projects, but they have no clue how to begin.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
