Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and resilience to just about everything we do in P.E. Many face challenges beyond the gym, yet they show up ready to move, learn, and grow. My goal is to equip them with lifelong tools for physical and mental well-being, and yoga is one of the most powerful practices I can offer.

Yoga teaches my students that movement and mindfulness are accessible to everyone; it encourages focus, balance, and resilience while adapting to all ages, abilities, and skill levels.

Best of all, it can be practiced anywhere in the world, at any time. However, I’ve seen firsthand how some students struggle to get into poses, while others need support to deepen their stretches. A class set of yoga blocks would allow every student to fully engage in their practice, whether by providing stability for those with limited flexibility or by challenging more advanced students to refine their movements.

These blocks will make yoga more inclusive, ensuring that all students, regardless of skill level, experience the benefits of improved balance, flexibility, and confidence. By removing barriers and enhancing their practice, I hope to foster a love for yoga that stays with them long after they leave my class. Thank you for considering this request and for supporting opportunities that empower students both in and out of the gym.

By donating to our project, you will not only help students build strength, flexibility, and confidence through yoga but also make movement and mindfulness more accessible and inclusive for all.
