My Project

Our students are amazing, resilient kids in a small, rural community. We have worked hard to build a culture of reading at our school, so much so that we currently have a long waitlist for book requests from our 6th through 12th graders! Unfortunately, our small library budget simply cannot keep up with their enthusiasm.

For reluctant readers, dense chapter books can feel intimidating, but they absolutely devour requested books like the ones in this project.

All 6 series selected here have been asked for by name by multiple students, guaranteeing they will be instant hits that get read over and over again. These high-interest, fast-paced books are the perfect bridge to build confidence, improve visual literacy, and spark a lifelong reading habit.

Funding this project will help us make incredible progress on our waitlist, putting 38 brand-new books directly into the hands of students who have been waiting patiently for months (or a year+). Help us show them that their interests matter and that their community supports their reading journey!
