This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our high school baseball team is proud to represent the largest high school in Maryland. Despite our size, our resources don’t match our spirit. With limited funding, outdated gear, and worn-down equipment, our student-athletes face major disadvantages both in competition and in safety. We’re seeking support to provide essential baseball equipment that will help level the playing field and give our hardworking players the opportunity to train and play with pride and dignity.
Our student body is vibrant, diverse, and full of untapped potential.
Over 80% of our students come from low-income households, and many are recent immigrants or first-generation Americans. For our baseball players, the field is more than just a place to play, it’s a sanctuary. It's where they build character, teamwork, and resilience.
However, with such limited school funding, we often have to make do with broken bats, mismatched uniforms, and decades-old gear. These kids don’t complain—they show up, work hard, and compete with everything they’ve got. They deserve better.
With your help, we will purchase much-needed equipment, including:
Pitching 9 hole
Indoor balls
batting assistance
These tools will improve our training, ensure player safety, and allow our team to focus on development and sportsmanship—not on whether they’ll have gear to play with. The impact of this project will last for seasons to come, especially for students who dream of taking their skills to the next level.
Our high school is a school full of promise, but limited resources can dim that light. Baseball has the power to build community, open college opportunities, and teach life lessons that extend far beyond the diamond. By funding this project, you’re giving our students more than equipment—you’re giving them hope, opportunity, and a sense of pride in their school and themselves.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
