My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you realized that you could read books? Do you remember the confidence reading gave you in other areas of your life? My students need to gain the confidence that they can read by having books on the right reading and interest level for them.
I have a group of hard working students.
They want to read and they want to learn, but they struggle having books on their level. They will read even in their extra time if I can give them books on their level. They also love to help other students learn, they try to find the good things in each other.
My Project
By using these books my students will be able to read about things that they are interested in without becoming frustrated. My students will gain the confidence they need to learn more and read harder books. These books will give them the opportunity to practice the reading, phonics, and comprehension skills they need to succeed in life.
Donations to this project will effect all second graders at our school for years to come.
Reading is a life skill and this donation will give them them the resources to practice this skill. It will also encourage my students to seek out more learning opportunities. It will inspire them even in the future to learn about things that interest them.
