This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year in my classroom I have many students who are struggling to learn to read. My goal is to constantly be meeting my students' needs throughout the classroom and one thing that I desperately need is new books that support students' phonics needs.
My students need a classroom library that they can utilize and appreciate. Unfortunately, my classroom library is filled with books that are not easily accessible to the students in my classroom. Therefore my goal is to fill the library with books that my students can easily access and enjoy. While they are utilizing it currently, they are only looking at the pictures and making up their own words. I will typically find my students "reading" to the stuffed animals that are currently in the classroom. My goal is to provide them with new books and new "buddies" so they can learn to love reading!
