Leveled NonFiction Libraries Keep the Froggies Hopping
My students need 2 complete sets of nonfiction books at their reading level.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Vrbas's classroom raised $324
This project is fully funded
My Students
Due to generous support from donors like you, my students have many more options for reading at their level. Now, they need access to more nonfiction books. We will be studying nonfiction indepth, and I would like them to be able to experience and access books at their level.
I have 24 students in my morning kindergarten class and 18 in the afternoon.
My afternoon class is an extended day intervention program, where students are from low income backgrounds and very few of them attended preschool. These students enter school with no knowledge of letter names or sounds and now they are ready to read! Please help them nurture a love for reading by supplying them with nonfiction text at their beginning levels.
My Project
I am requesting two large book sets of nonfiction text for guided reading groups and our nonfiction unit of study. These are books in the first eight levels of reading. Students will receive one on one and small group instruction using the books, but will also be able to read them at other times in the classroom library. These supplies will help students year after year.
This project is so important because guided reading not only instills a love of reading at a young age, but it also gives kindergarten students challenging materials in various genres that will have them prepared for entering first grade.
Your donation will truly impact these little Froggies by setting them on the right path in life because early education and early interventions are keys to successful lives.
