My Project

If there is one subject that my students love it's reading, specifically reading centers. An independent center that I have wanted to incorporate in my group rotations is independent reading, but unfortunately, my classroom library does not contain books that my kindergarten students are able to read independently. While looking at the pictures and telling their own story is a great way to get kids with books in their hands, it does not give students the opportunity to practice reading sight words, fluency, and comprehension.

With your donation of leveled books, my students would be able to choose a book from our library that are just right for them!

The majority of my students come from a low-income and low socioeconomic backgrounds and it disheartens me to know that most of these students do not have books to read at home. It is my hope to provide my students with books that are just right for them to read in school and book bags to take home and read.
