This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of second grade students. I have a very diverse classroom environment that makes all of my students feel safe and welcomed. I have a wide range of students who come from all different backgrounds and each has a story that is unique and plays a factor in their learning. I run my classroom as if we are a family, a team, as leaders for each other. We support each others learning and we celebrate all our success.

I teach at a Title 1 School.

All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. For the majority of students, this is their only chance of the day to have a meal. Despite any hardship that my students face in their home lives, the students in my class are eager to learn and love school. Every child that enters my room is loved and know that they are each and every day.

My Project

I am asking for a set of books that are leveled from A to Q. I have a wonderful group of second graders who all read at different levels. I am asking for these books to help provide success for each student. The set of leveled books I am asking for will provide a literature-rich environment for all my students.

For most of the students in my class, school is their only opportunity to pick up a wonderful book to read.

With this kit, I will be able to help students to read at their level but also help them to improve their reading to higher levels. Thank you for your consideration of my project!
