Help me give my students leveled books in order to give them reading practice in a one on one reading recovery classroom. Leveled books will help me to help the students raise their reading level and joy.
Reading intervention is new to our school. Because it's so new, I only have a few books for student reading practice. Students need reading practice in order to build and strengthen their reading skills. My goal for each and every student that I assist in reading is to increase and strengthen their reading skills through practice and to, hopefully, spark a joy for literature so that they can see the joy one can have from reading books and that they will continue to read throughout their lives. This grant will help me to do this by building a classroom library of leveled books from which students can practice reading at their current level, which for many is low. Students need to practice reading book on their current levels in order to The majority of our students come from families who cannot afford to buy books and don't have books at home; therefore, making their classroom library many times the place for them to find books for reading. I'm very grateful and appreciative of the opportunity to apply for this grant. Thank you.
