My students need Level A, B, and C books to learn how to read. These books will serve so that they can receive instruction at their particular instructional level.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What happens when a try to read a book that you just can't understand? You stop reading it of course. That is the same thing that children do. If the text is to difficult then they become frustrated and lose interest.
My students live in the inner-city.
They live with very little. They all qualify for federally funded lunches and live with just the bare minimum. They come to school with hopes and dreams and want to learn as much as they can. They know how important a good education is and therefore try very hard in school. More than half of my students are reading at a Kindergarten level this year and that is why I am seeking books that are at their instructional and independent reading levels.
My Project
I have requested leveled reading books specifically in levels A, B, and C to provide individualized reading instruction for students at those particular levels. My students need these books to learn to read. Level A book will help teach them concepts of print as well as one to one correspondence. Level B books will provide multiple opportunities for students to see high frequency words in context. Level C books will be used to help students decode cvc words as well as to help them read words with consonant blends. The books are essential to help the students begin their journey into the world of reading.
Please help my students begin to read by donating Level A, B, and C books.
These books will not only be used to teach the students the skills necessary to being to read, but they will also help them get the practice they need. Allowing students to learn on their instructional level will ensure that they make adequate progress in reading. Thank you for joining forces with me to break the illiteracy and poverty cycle one classroom at a time.
