This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our youngest learners in grades K–3 are full of energy, curiosity, and excitement to learn new skills in Physical Education! At equity focus schools, many students don’t always have access to sports equipment or opportunities to play organized games outside of school. By adding a PlayStation 5 console, four controllers, two chargers, and a few sports games to our PE program, we can help every child experience the joy of teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship in a safe and inclusive way.

This setup will give students a chance to learn the rules and concepts of popular sports games like basketball, soccer, and football before they step onto the court or field.

With the PS5, students will be able to see game situations unfold, make decisions as a team, and understand how collaboration, communication, and following rules lead to success both in and out of the gym.

Bringing this technology into our PE program will not only make learning fun but also build confidence and inclusion among students of all abilities. Whether they’re watching a play unfold or taking turns “coaching” through the game, every student will have a chance to participate, lead, and grow. Your support will help level the playing field, literally and virtually by giving our students the tools to learn, connect, and shine through the power of play.
