Letters That Last: Preserving Connections Through Student Scrapbooks

Help me give my students the creative materials to bring their pen-pal project to life! This project will preserve memories and create a precious keepsake.

My Project

Each year, our eighth graders participate in a beloved tradition: the correspondence project, with a family member or loved one. Through handwritten letters and original poetry, students develop meaningful connections while strengthening literacy, communication, and social-emotional skills. To preserve these special exchanges, students create personal scrapbooks that reflect their unique stories and relationships.

Funding this project will provide high-quality stationery and scrapbooking materials—including decorative paper, stickers, and other special embellishments —so students can transform their letters and poems into a lasting keepsake.

These materials elevate the project to a more creative, hands-on experience that celebrates writing, family connection, and artistic expression. With support from this donation, every 8th-grade student will have access to materials and leave middle school with a beautifully crafted memory book that honors their correspondence and becomes a treasured reminder of their growth.
