This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of 28 energetic and happy students that are ready for Kindergarten every day! They cannot wait to listen to our favorite stories, learn new songs and make new friends. My students are all 5 years old when they start school and for many of them, this is their first educational experience. I want it to be Epic!

Our school is set in a beautiful Mexican neighborhood in a large city in Illinois with lots of culture.

It is also a high poverty neighborhood with many parents that spend most of their time working to make ends meet. Kids are excited to come to our school because we provide the structure as well as the experiences that they need to make learning meaningful to them.

My Project

Hello! Thank you for stopping to read about my project! I teach Kindergarten in Chicago and I notice that each year it is more challenging to get students to learn their letters and sounds. We are in great need of magnetic letters for our reading centers. I really want my students to have fun while they are learning.

The Lake shore CVC puzzles that are connected to the Dr. Seuss books are just what we need.

Students will be able to practice short cvc words. I also chose a few games like "find the letter". Students love to search for letters. It makes learning exciting. Students will work on their fine motor skills while they learn letter names. Literacy is a life long journey! Let's make it lovely!
