This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come ready to learn on time and everyday. They are from high poverty areas and over 50% are English learners. I have students that came from El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. We are in a low-income/high poverty area and have very supportive parents. My students are growing a love for reading and writing.
My students are eager for new experiences and motivated to try new things.
Starting up a new classroom takes lots of energy, time, and money. Your support is appreciated for a successful school year and building our leaders of tomorrow.
My Project
Magnetic letters allow students to arrange letters to form words. This allows students awareness that there is a connection between letters and sounds. May seem obvious, but struggling readers will have a hands on experience that will help them become familiar learning words. Teacher can also model how putting letters together can make words, hands on decoding. Magnetic letters will provided endless opportunities to explore. What better way to learn than to play with your work. This will definitely be a fun way to learn and become a popular way to decode.
