Letter and Number Toys: Fostering Early Literacy and Math Skills

My Project

My 29 kindergarten students include students from low socioeconomic households, special education students, many second language learners, and even some who speak more than two languages. They are bright, curious, and full of potential. I absolutely love their eagerness to learn!

The $100 Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase high-quality, teacher-created resources that meet my students' individual needs.

Whether it’s reading comprehension tools, phonics games, or math centers, these materials will help me support different learning styles and keep lessons fresh and engaging.

With the Lakeshore Alphabet Learning Locks, Unlock It! Number Match and Translucent Letters, my students will build strong foundational literacy and math skills through hands-on play. These engaging tools will help them recognize letters and numbers, practice early spelling, and improve counting—all while having fun.

Organization is key to a successful learning environment, and the 60 plastic folders will help keep students' work neat and accessible. Each student will have their own folder to store classwork, allowing them to take responsibility for their materials while staying organized. These folders are sturdy, reusable, and perfect for managing daily assignments, center work, and family communication.
