My Students

"It's too hard to write," my students said. It is hard for students to form letters without practice at a young age.

My students come from different social economical backgrounds.

They are a group of enthusiastic youngsters who love to read and write. One of their favorite free choice activity is to write and draw. However, with limited funding, we do not have a lot of materials for students to write books with color illustrations.

My Project

With the magic boards, my kindergarten students will be able to practice forming letters independently without making a mess with the dry erase markers. They also get to practice their sight words in their new journals with color pictures. They can express their thoughts freely. My first grade students will be able to use the dry erase markers to do math problems and write Chinese characters on their dry erase board.

This project will help our youngsters to write freely.

They can practice letter formation and proper spacing with these material. When students have a strong foundation of letter formation, they can focus on their ideas when they are writing in upper grades rather than penmanship.
