This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
If we read about it, then we write at about it! That is the motto in our classroom. In our classroom, writing is a daily activity. From journal writing, to poetry, to short stories as well as research papers and book reports - there is always something to write about!
The 4th grade students in my class come from various cultural backgrounds.
They embrace each others differences and look forward to learning about each other. We are in a school where classes are departmentalized, so they have one teacher for math, science and social studies and then are in my classroom for reading and writing.
My Project
Instead of just having students share their writing aloud in class, the document camera will be used to display writing samples, so that either as a whole group or in small group we can review and expand on the skills that we have learned and are currently learning. My students have an extremely important state test that is writing based, as a class we can encourage and share ways to make our peers writing better. This camera can also be used in our reading class to review texts and be able to go back and find the key information. This resource will have many uses and will assist all learners, my visual learners especially will benefit greatly and become highly engaged. I am very excited and have high expectations for this tool and all it will allow for my students to do.
