This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my Spanish class, we engage in a variety of dynamic and culturally enriching projects that allow students to delve deeply into Hispanic/Latin traditions and artistic expressions. Our activities include celebrating Day of the Dead, creating cultural designs, and studying famous Latin artists. The students will use the markers, colored pencils and Sharpie markers for some of these projects. The chairs are for the students to have a place to relax and take a time out when needed. I use the stickers for positive feedback. One particularly engaging project involves students recreating a renowned painting from their chosen artist. However, as a Title I-funded school, many of our students struggle to afford their own art supplies.
Despite our best efforts, budget cuts and stagnant wages have made it increasingly difficult for us teachers to provide the necessary resources.
