This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 5th grade Math students are ready to learn! My school is a Title I school, meaning that my students are considered "at risk", because most of them come from low income households.
The students in my classroom come from a low income high poverty school district.
Students are faced with many challenges that other students will never experience. In addition to these challenges, students have emotional disorders, they are language learners, and many have learning disabilities.
The students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 90% of our students receiving free lunch.
My Project
Having new supplies is always the highlight of starting a new school year.
Due to COVID, students will no longer be able to share classroom supplies with their classmates.
Students will use their new pencils and loose leaf to write and show their work. Students will use their own sharpeners at their own desk to sharpen their pencils and use their new erasers to correct their mistakes.
Being able to start the school year with these new supplies will provide fifth graders with a positive classroom learning experience.
