Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am back to my Specific Learning Disabled 4 & 5-grade special day class program this year. I also Volunteer and mentor our GATE / high achiever 2-5 grade afterschool STEAM club as well as our Afterschool VEX Robotics teams (1 boy and 1 girl team this year).
My school is an intercity public IB public school, that requires our fifth graders to do a culminating project.
I also want to bring Robotics and more technology into our whole school.
My Project
I would like to promote interactive learning in my special education classroom. I would like my students to use our tablets and pads to show and document their thinking, problem-solving and writing. Interactive boards are very expensive, and smart TV's are getting cheaper. I am thinking we can use casting to the TV from our tablets and pads to show our individual and group problem-solving skills. I currently have 3 tablets, so I am asking to add an extra Tablet and a wireless laser printer to allow for 4 small groups to share their work. The technology will also be available and support our afterschool STEAM & Robotic clubs that I Volunteer for.
