My Project
I am requesting four wobble stools in my school's colors. With these four stools, I will have 24 seats in my classroom in the fall. I just found out that my biggest class is sitting at 24, so I do need four more seating options. My students did community service at my previous school last week and one of my students asked if I could get wobble stools for my classroom. This student will be so excited and will definitely benefit from using a wobble stool to improve their focus. I know my other students will be as well and these will positively impact their ability to focus too. Currently, my classroom has wood chairs that were repurposed from another location at my school. While this is a great example of reuse, these chairs are not comfortable to all students and could negatively impact student learning and engagement. Therefore, I am requesting another different type of seating.
Flexible seating gives students the power to learn in positions most comfortable to them, which is necessary in a culturally responsive classroom.
