Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Young students are quite active! Their bodies need to move in order for their brains to be engaged. In my kindergarten classroom, students move from place to place on a regular basis, sitting on the rug, moving to the table, engaging in various center activities, etc. But even with all of the different activities and lessons, there are still times that students are expected to work at a table and complete some paperwork.

Allowing my students choice of where to sit and what to sit on will help their engagement and motivation!

Having flexible seating options let students move their bodies just enough to stay focused. During the pandemic, our students were sitting in desks for long periods of time without a ton of movement. I have found that more and more students need flexible options due to two years of social distancing and staying in your desk
