My Students

Did you ever have anyone to practice with you the voting process as a teenager? If not, then you missed out! I am trying my best to expose these students to voting and its importance while they are here in the classroom!

Most, if not all of my students, are from low income poverty stricken families in a rural area.

They like entertainment, electronics, music, and sports. The school is great here, however like other schools we seem to lack some of the basic essentials needed to apply education.

My Project

I am requesting a printer so that students can see organized, neat and professional work; not written and copied examples of ballots, statistics and such. With this printer I will be able to show them what ballots look like, print things from the Internet and allow them to participate in a student election by printing ballots for their class. My students are constantly engaged in generating electronic copies for their notes and work; however, when it comes time to print there are barriers because of the lack of a classroom printer. I am requesting a speaker so that I can allow students to hear audible messages from the computer without strain.

My project is important because my students are important.

The have the desire to learn and do more! I want to ensure that when they are 18 and older they will participate in the political process because of what they were shown and taught in my class.
