Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Some of the students have access to technology at home, but many do not. My students are amazing little people that have brains that are developing incredibly fast. Each time we use technology in our classroom their faces light up and I have their full attention.
My classroom is very diverse with students of all different ethnicities.
Many of them have language barriers, so having technology included in our daily lessons benefits them greatly! My students would love to use an iPad to create a class iMovie, however we are short on technology devices to create the movie. Please help make their dream come true!
My Project
Right now we are using written language to tell our stories. However, as the year progresses we would like to use digital tools to tell stories through iMovies and eBooks. We need an iPad to complete this project. The level of enthusiasm increases tremendously when my students get to use a technology device. Their motivation is incredible, so this will tremendously benefit their learning experiences. Also, I love to teach a lesson and then follow up with a piece of technology. My direct instruction followed up by research or time on technology helps the students retain the information they have just learned. It helps make their learning more meaningful. Having an iPad will increase the learning in my classroom.
Technology is moving at a fast rate and my students will be able to keep up with that, as well as increase their learning.
Their love for school and motivation to learn will continue to grow as they discover how the possibilities are endless with technology. The level of reading fluency and comprehension will also increase as we develop eBooks and iMovies!
