Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love coming to school and are eager to learn. They are very curious and have a lot of questions. They are energetic and need other resources besides paper, pencil, whiteboards, and dry erase markers to learn how to blend, segment, read, and write words.
The magnetic alphabet letters will help me teach the sounds, letters, and words in a fun and interactive way.
I will use these magnetic letters and a baking sheet or dry erase whiteboard to make words using the sounds/spelling of the day. We will sound out words, blend words, make words and we'll make word chains using these magnetic letters.
I know that using these magnetic letters will get my students excited when they get to work with me because they love touching and manipulating things. They will also have a chance to build their own words during independent work time.
