This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are four and five year old that tend to have not been in a classroom before. These children are always curious when something new is being brought into the classroom. At such a young age, they need to be exposed to so many different aspects of life, which they can pursue in the future. These students are filled with energy and excitement upon arrival.

My Project

Outside time is one of the most active parts of the day, especially in Pre-k. I would like to get two extra tricycles to have students use their gross motor skills. They can also use these tricycles to practice turn taking and racing each other. During Field Day we will have these out for the Pre-k class to compete and make it a very fun day. We will use the balance beam as well to help their eye-hand coordination. This will help with patience and taking their time to walk across the balance beam without falling.

Outside time can be more than just running around and chasing each other.

We will use the cardstock to make task cards to hang around of different motions the child has to make. We can also use it as our clean up spots which will let the students know that is where they need to put them back.
