My Project
Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) is an amazing website where teachers can go to purchase materials made by other teachers. Recently I've been going to TPT to purchase clipart to make my own lessons more engaging. Some of my recent lessons have included instruction on school supply words and classroom vocabulary.
The lessons are highly engaging because students can manipulate or move the item.
For example we might say, "The glue is on the table." The students find the picture of glue and move it to the table. It is amazing to see students following one or two step directions. When we've almost mastered the vocabulary I'll have students play a game together. They ask eachother where the items are and then check their answers. It's amazing to see students use vocabulary and sentences they didn't know a month prior.
Getting this project completed will give me greater access to the TPT clipart and resources created by other teachers. It will save me time by having access to materials another teacher made or will help me make my own lessons more engaging with fun clipart.
