Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am very passionate about social-emotional learning. I believe it is just as important as academic learning.
This project will help me help my students deal with their own emotions, feel and show empathy, set positive goals, establish healthy relationships and make responsible decisions.
The books and games will give my students opportunities to develop social skills. These skills will be beneficial for them as they navigate school life.
I imagine my students working and playing together while applying what they have learned from the SEL lessons— from taking turns, understanding each others’ feelings to solving conflicts.
