Lets Talk About Feelings!

Help me give my students a way to learn to better understand their emotions. These items will help them learn how to identify what they are feeling and how to talk with others about it.

My Students

Amazing students are who I teach! However, my amazing students don’t always have the best circumstances.

My students are amazing kiddos that teach the teachers everyday!

We are more than a school. We are a family!

I am blessed to work with some amazing kids. I teach at an elementary school in a Special Education setting to help my students learn and grow. My favorite part of my job is that I get to teach them how to be good friends and make choices that will brighten their futures. My students are ninety-seven percent economically disadvantaged and come from a variety of circumstances. In addition to their backgrounds, they struggle with a diagnosis that makes learning and social skills difficult. That doesn't stop them from being amazing or teaching me something new every day! Some of my students are survivors and have been thru more than most adults have in their entire lives. These items will encourage my student mental well being and give them ways to process various feelings and experiences. It will help with social interactions with others and taking a breather to refocus.

My Project

I have selected books and materials on a variety of topics that can be used in classrooms across my school as well as read to students during virtual meet sessions. It is hard being a kid and to process all the changes this world has thrown at them lately.

My goal with these items is to teach them that its ok to feel the way we feel, to identify how they are feeling, and to know strategies to change an unwanted emotion.

These will be used in whole class lessons, small group lessons and one on one with a child. Building a foundation of emotional awareness with my students will help to set them up for success now and in their futures.
