Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently have 25 six- and seven-year-old students in my classroom. I am teaching first graders in a Title I school, located in a high poverty and high crime area of Pennsylvania.

All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have three special education students and two ESL (English as a Second Language) students in my classroom. Several of the students in my classroom have an in-class social worker.

My Project

My students would love to get some essential snacks.

My first graders would benefit from getting popcorn, popchips, bamba and peanut butter cups.

They tend to get hungry by the end of the day since they eat lunch at 11:00. They often ask if they can take home something to eat.

I would love if my first graders could take home food for both after school and for the weekend. These delicious snacks would help to take away any hunger pangs that they might get.

Thanks a million for considering this essential needs food project for my 25 first graders.
