Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project has been created with the kids comfort in mind in our daily learning environment. We need new rugs in our classroom. In Kindergarten students do a lot of learning on the carpet in the whole group setting and even in small groups! I have found that over the years carpets only last a few years. This year I would love to have the rugs replaced because we are moving into a new part of the building. I have worked diligently this summer painting the classroom and making it a fun, colorful, and vibrant learning environment for the kids and myself to enjoy. I just need some additional items, but the most important is new rugs! Whole group learning on a rug in the classroom is an essential part of kindergarten. Circle time in our class is on the large rug in the front of our classroom.
Circle time offers numerous benefits for students including improved engagement, enhanced social skills, and reduced distractions.
A carpet in the classroom helps provide us with a convenient space for instruction and assessments.
My students are special and all deserve a fun learning environment. Kindergarten is the gateway to the rest of their educational journey. Kindergarten helps set the tone for the rest of their years in school. Once a child enjoys coming to school at a young age to learn and socialize they will be willing to continue their education with a positive mindset!
Our school has various living situations, but one thing they all have in common is they come to my classroom together to learn, grow and play! Children now have various stressors and coming to school should not be one. Please help me by donating to our class project.
