My Project
Many students face mental health challenges in their daily lives and it affects them socially and academically. Without having the necessary tools, including an On Strike boxed set of books and a weighted sensory elephant, to help them process their emotions, it can cause them to sometimes give up hope. With the purchase of social emotional learning books and therapy items to help address grief, anger, depression, etc, I will be able to work with my students in an engaging way, so that they can learn coping skills to help them deal with mental health issues that they are facing. My students are special because they are advocating for their own mental health needs and recognizing that they need some support to help them navigate and problem-solve to help them overcome obstacles that they may be facing in their lives.
