This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of our students use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices. A majority of those devices are ipads with dedicated communication apps. These devices go home with the students everyday. And we know that things happen and parents do not always get to charge the devices at home. They sometimes lose power during the day and need to be charged at school. Often more than one needs to be charged at once. Last year we were able to get a charging station for each classroom.
It was a very successful program in our school and we want it to continue.
The stations we have are in use everyday. However, we have added new classrooms. Some of the usb cords on the stations have broken. A few of our stations also no longer work. We need more stations. We want the new classrooms to have stations, replace the broken stations, and replace broken usb connectors.
