This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! The school we are at is a Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. We have a fantastic administration, wonderful teammates, and the best students! My students are very hard workers and also know how to have fun. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I love seeing their faces every morning.
My students have a desire to learn.
They always want to know more, learn more, do more, read more of everything. Our classroom is our own little family.
My Project
My students currently have little room to move around the classroom. Our desks are outrageously large! And the students just cram so much unnecessary stuff into the cubbies in their desks. We move around the room a lot and often work on the floor, in flexible seating, or on the carpet.
But with our huge desks, that are about 4' x 2' per student, we have no room!
These tables will allow us space to do our work and activities, but they will take up so much less space than our giant desks! Help us to get some space back in our classroom!
More than half of students from low‑income households
