Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a community where they are sometimes missing the essentials needed for school and just everyday life. For some of them, the school is the safest place they know.
I teach physical education and health in a low-income, diverse, inner-city neighborhood where 100% of my students receive free lunch and breakfast.
My students are children that are sometimes responsible for themselves and their siblings. They work hard to survive in a community that tries to hold them back.
My Project
This year, our students maybe celebrating black history month at home. We would like to showcase black history month in a beautiful way. We are learning about our heritage and want to share it with others.
We hope that with these materials will spark an interest in our history and a quest for more knowledge.
The tapestry will serve as our backdrop to be used during the black history month performances. The books and cd will be used to provide background knowledge needed for our students. The DVD will help to add dance into our online presentation. All these things will help us to bring together a great hybrid presentation for all of our students.
