I love to read musical stories to my classes. It helps them learn music vocabulary words as well as create an interest in learning to read. I will use the following books as both read alouds in music class as well as centers books; The Green Piano, Henry the Steinway and the piano Recital, Poppy And Vivaldi, Listen : How Evelyn Glennie, a deaf Girl, Changed Pervussion, Auri Hears Music Everywhere, When Step Met Skip and Forte Moves to Town.
