My Students

Green technologies - going green - is bigger than the Internet. It could be the biggest economic opportunity of the 21st century. ~John Doerr. The students in this class are ready to go green and walk away from traditional paper and pencil academics.

My students come from a variety of social and economical backgrounds.

There is also a wide variety of learning styles among the students. We have a large class of 21 students this year. Having them work together will help close that achievement gap and allow them to be more successful in the classroom.

My Project

Having many clip boards and dry erase boards will allow the students to engage more frequently with each other. They will be able to work around the room with partners or small groups. With 21 students there are not a lot of spots around the room to work that work without the use of something stable behind their work. They have to stay at tables or desks to work with a partner. We would like to put some variety in their day.

These resources will allow students to have a variety of places to work around the room.

They will be able to work on the reading rug or the morning meeting rug. The dry erase boards will be a quick way for the teacher to assess the students' understanding to a question and allow the students to save time with paper and a pencil. Clip boards will allow the students to collaborate with each other or work independently throughout the room.
