Hi! Thank you for taking a closer look at our project. I teach at an inner-city school where about 93% of our students receive a free or reduced lunch on a daily basis.
My students have taken a particular interest in our current unit of study ~ Rocks. Through DonorsChoose I was able to get some excellent concrete examples of rocks that we are currently working with, but the kids have expressed a great deal of interest in my personal collection of polished rocks that I brought from home.
I would like to get a class Rock Tumbler so that the kids can see how a regular rock can be polished to become something extraordinary and have the opportunity to take one home themselves.
I remember as a kid my brother had a Rock Tumbler and the hours of fun we had with it. I would like to provide that kind of excitement and encouragement to my students in their study of rocks. Won't you please help me?
